The B.L.T. Rails to Trails Association is excited to announce an opportunity for two Summer Student Trail Ambassadors. This is a fantastic opportunity for students interested in gaining hands-on experience in trail management and community engagement.
Positions Available: 2 Trail Ambassadors
Duration: 8 weeks (Summer)
Hours: 35 hours per week
Rate of Pay: $15.20 per hour
Work Schedule: Primarily Monday to Friday, with some required weekend work.
Location: Various locations along the 13 KM B.L.T. Rails to Trails
Job Description:
- General Trail Maintenance: Involves painting, vegetation management, and other maintenance tasks to ensure trail safety and aesthetics.
- Administrative Tasks: Manage inventory and perform routine administrative duties.
- Tourism and Community Engagement: Provide trail users with directions, assist in hosting events, and promote a positive trail experience.
Job Criteria:
- Must be between the ages of 15 to 30.
- Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person to whom refugee protection has been conferred.
- Must possess a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN).
- Must be currently enrolled in a secondary to post-secondary educational institution.
- Must have a valid driver’s license. Access to a vehicle is preferred.
- Must be able to operate a bicycle as the main mode of transportation on the trail. A bicycle will be provided.
