The B.L.T. Rails to Trails is a Leave No Trace trail — this means if you pack it in, please pack it out.
We’ve recently received reports of dog poop bags being left behind along the trail. While we appreciate those who clean up after their pets, leaving waste (even bagged) along the trail is still littering and poses a risk to others.
Why no garbage cans?
A few months ago, our garbage cans were removed due to ongoing safety concerns for our volunteers. Items like broken glass, drug paraphernalia, and other hazardous materials were frequently being dumped — making it unsafe for those who generously give their time to keep our trail beautiful.
Please help us keep the trail clean and safe for everyone — take all your waste with you and respect this shared space.
