On May 21, 2024, crucial repair work will commence on the B.L.T. Rails to Trails near Tapawingo Lane. These repairs are imperative for the safety and sustainability of our beloved trail, addressing the significant damage caused by the 2023 flash floods. Managed by the Nova Scotia Trail Association on behalf of the B.L.T. Rails to Trails Association and authorized by the NS Department of Natural Resources and Renewals, this project is essential to ensure the long-term usability and safety of the trail for all users.

The repair work will involve addressing waterflow issues, tree trimming, and ditching. Heavy machinery will be deployed to meet the required safety standards, following a minimalist approach to preserve the natural environment. These efforts are vital not only to restore the trail to its standard condition but also to protect it and nearby residents from future damage.

To ensure the safety of everyone, the trail will be closed from Hubley Road to Tapawingo Lane on weekdays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM for approximately 3-4 weeks. The trail will be accessible outside these hours, including weekends. Clear signage will be posted to guide and inform users.

We urge all trail users to respect the closure signs, as entering the construction zone poses significant public safety risks. For ongoing updates and more information, please follow us on our social media channels and visit our website.

Your cooperation and understanding are greatly appreciated as we undertake these necessary measures to secure the future safety and enjoyment of the B.L.T. Rails to Trails.
