The B.L.T. Rails to Trails Association would like to inform the public that sections of the trail will be undergoing rotating closures between September 6 and September 20 as part of our scheduled trail maintenance.
We are currently re-grading the entire 13-kilometer trail to improve its quality and ensure a safer, more enjoyable experience for all users.
For the safety of our community, we must close portions of the trail temporarily while the work is being carried out. Large, heavy machinery will be used during this process, and in the past, we have experienced instances where trail users attempted to pass through work zones, creating unsafe conditions for both themselves and the workers. We urge everyone to respect the closures and follow the posted detours to avoid any accidents or incidents.
The B.L.T. Rails to Trails Association has obtained the necessary permissions from the Department of Natural Resources and Renewables (DNRR) to close sections of the trail as needed. Please check our Facebook page regularly for updates on which sections are closed and for information on detour routes. We are doing our best to ensure that alternative routes are provided where possible.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding during this important maintenance period, as we work to enhance the trail for the community. Safety is our top priority, and we thank you for your support.
